Dixon's river front park

A few weeks ago I took a drive to Dixon, IL. 

They have a cute downtown area that is along the Rock River.  Most of the tourist attractions are within a few blocks walking distance from the riverfront area.

Ronald Reagan's Boyhood Home

Dixon is the boyhood home of President Ronald Reagan.  From March through October you can visit the home that the Reagan Family first lived in, when they moved to Dixon in 1920.

President Reagan's boyhood home has been restored to the 1920s period. Tour guides tell about his life in Dixon and the story of his formative years.

 They have recently developed their riverfront along the Rock River.  There are quite a few shops and restaurants that are within a few blocks.

It is a nice place to spend an afternoon when you take the road less travelled!
