Fall Colors Weekend

It's the most wonderful time of the year-in my opinion.

The air is crisp.  The nights are cool.  Nature is putting on a brillient show of color in Central Illinois.

From vibrant yellows to deep reds the leaves on the trees are showing their rich hues.

People are flocking to the area to see the fall foliage and nature in all it's splendor.

Here are a few favorite drives to check out this weekend.

The Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway runs along the Illinois River from Ottawa to south of Peoria.  Check out the weblink and give geocaching a try!  There is treasure hidden all along the byway!  There is so much to see.

Or pile in the car with a bunch of Girlfriends and take a Girls Road Trip.  There are several fun trips to take between Princeton and Morris, IL for girls who like Shopping, winerys, spas, great food and historic locations.

A favorite drive of mine at this time of year in La Salle County is Route 71 between Oglesby and Ottawa and then Dee Bennet Road between Ottawa and Utica.  This takes you through Starved Rock State Park as you drive east and winds past Buffalo State Park and through Utica when you drive west.
