Weber House-Streator, IL

The Weber House is a storybook tudor cottage which sits on a two acre English garden of meandering paths, roses, hollyhocks and old oaks. Inside, cozy candlelit rooms reflect the 18th century.

The history of the Weber House is interlaced with the rich and famous.

Ted Weber, long time Chicago radio and television personality, and creator of Weber House and Garden will introduce you to each one as you tour the house room by room. His stories of Eleanor Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Richard Nixon and many others will surprise and delight you.

Mr. Weber's nationally syndicated radio shows originated from such Chicago landmarks as The Italian Village, Punchinello's on Rush, Marina City, Piper's Alley in Old Town, and the Blackstone and Knickerbocker Hotels. His guests ranged from movie stars, to politicians and authors. His interviewing skills also took him to Europe where he filed reports for NBC. His television credits include "Ted and the Angel," "C.E.T.  Amateur Hour," "Ted Weber In Old Town," and "A.M. Chicago".

Ted has planted and tended these gardens by himself for many years.  He has hand placed each plant and rock and has dug the ponds himself.

It is a labor of love.

The garden is divided into several rooms that showcase different ponds, fountains or plants.

The garden is beautiful all year long.

Please allow an hour and a half for the visit to the Weber House and Gardens.
